Why I Became a Voice Actor

Storytelling has always been part of my life, but not always a positive experience.

Growing up in rural Northwest Georgia, there weren’t many stories about LGBTQ+ people, and certainly nothing positive came out of the stories that were told. Since I was (and still am) gay, every day I questioned if I was truly a ‘good person’. How could I be if the feelings I have were labeled as ‘bad’ in all of the stories I heard? It was isolating and lonely. All I wanted was one story of a gay person who wasn’t the villain. 

My goal is to share as many stories as possible to reach those that might have felt like me when I was growing up.

Creative and Corporate

I finally found the stories I craved in theatre! I studied Musical Theatre at Reinhardt University and performed all over the Eastern U.S. 

I loved being a conduit for writers, shaping their words through my own experience to honor their work and bring it life.

This eventually led me to marketing for corporations, and I was thoroughly surprised to learn storytelling was just as important! Audiences cling to stories and it’s the key to strong brand awareness. I got hands-on experience speaking with CEOs, learning their back story and working with creative teams on the best way to share their story for people to hear.

Voiceover is a bridge that fuels both creative work and commercial work, and I’m grateful to tell stories in both mediums!

Personal Interests

I have a loving and supportive fiancé who I get to be my silliest self with. Every night we are in stitches laughing with each other! We love traveling the world together, and eating as many new dishes as we can

We have two perfect kittens, Biscotti and Espresso, named after our love of travel and good food! (Even though we haven’t made it to Italy yet)

I love exploring the stories crafted for video games and admiring other voice actors in anime dubs and cartoons!

I drive my partner crazy with my determination to forage for wild mushrooms and edible plants! For what I cant forage for, I try to grow it in my garden… great way to test my patience and gives a bonus does of humility. (Advice is always welcome!)
